We’ve been doing a lot of hiring at Rightside over the past couple of months and are sufficiently excited about the newbie Rightsiders. Today, we’ve decided to give your eyes a rest and instead let you listen as Tech Evangelist Sean Ottey sits down for an interview with Jason Silverstein, the new Vice President of Product and Engineering. Sean pulls no punches in his campaign to determine exactly what makes Jason tick.
And for those of you who still expect a little light reading, here is a brief Q&A with Jason:
When did you start and what is your title?
Started in July as VP, Product and Engineering at Rightside.
What are your goals here? What would you like to accomplish, or what problems would you like to solve?
Inclusive of wanting to be part of Rightside’s mission to help you tell your story your way, I hope to help our division be its best by fostering a culture of openness and transparency. We are building and accenting a group that values shared successes, accountability, continuous learning, and teamwork.
What’s your favorite Rightside domain extension?
Definitely .NEWS! I joined Rightside after about eight years leading various media companies in their product development organizations. This Rightside extension intersects my interests of learning, technology, and products.
What do you like to do when you’re not working?
Outside of work, I am enjoying my new home here in the Pacific Northwest with my family. I love to run and be active outdoors, and I’m on the board of an organization called F3 that started in Charlotte, NC. Once we get settled, I’ll start a chapter here as the group is one of my passions.
